VEB Mathias-Thesen-Werft (Wismar, Germany). This ship has a gross tonnage of 22080gt. It was formerly named as MS Aleksandr Pushkin. It is scheduled to be refurbished this 2017. MV Marco Polo’s itineraries include famous European destinations like Norway’s Norwegian Fjords, Baltic Sea (Scandinavia and Russia), British Isles and Iceland. The Cruise and Maritime Voyage MS Marco Polo has 425 cabins for their guests in 15 different categories. There are 14 suites. This ship has no balcony cabins. There are 281 cabins with oceanviews and 128 inside cabins on Deck 9 (Amundsen). There are no connecting rooms which are fit for families on a cruise. The main dining room on board the MS Marco Polo is The Seven Seas Restaurant Restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner for all the guests on board. The Marco’s Bistro provides open seating for informal meals around the pool deck. Al fresco dining can be right here. Maxim’s offers dinner  featuring Italian, French and Mediterranean cuisine. The Raffles Café offer Lido buffet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day time activities include bingo, golf sessions and lectures as well as trivia games. The Livingston Lounge has a small library and Nansen Car Room. Night time entertainment involves ballroom dancing events, live shows and live music performances. There are various lounges and bars on board like the Captain’s Club and Columbus Lounge and the Scott’s Bar. The Cruise and Maritime Voyage MS Marco Polo also has Jade Wellness Spa Center equipped with two saunas and fitness gym.

In Belfast (the first port) we took the free shuttle to the city centre and caught a bus to the Titanic Centre which provided a good 2 hours entertainment. We the caught the bus back into the city to meet a taxi for a pre-booked tour of “the troubles” – another excellent 2 hours. e treated ourselves to a suite and the accommodation and service was excellent with a balcony, sitting room and bedroom, jacuzzi, daily canapes, welcome champagne and fruit and extra options for room-service breakfast. We also had the added treat of being invited to the Captain’s table on Gala night…”
