What a catch

Red King Crabs can weigh up to 10 kilos and have a leg span of 1.8 meters. An experienced fisherman will take you for an unforgettable King Crab Fishing tour on a snowmobile driven sleigh, where you will slide along the Langfjord to find pots hidden beneath the frozen surface of the Barents Sea. You are welcome to help pull up the King Crab cage from the depths of the ocean.

Your guide will tell you all you want to know about these mystical creatures before returning back to where a delicious king crab meal will await you in a warm, rustic farmhouse situated right next to the fjord. The portions are generous so no one will leave the table hungry.

You can find out more about Norway’s cheese when you visit Aalan Gard, a picturesque family-owned goat farm in Vestvagoy in Lofoten.

Owned and operated by Tove and Knut Aland, they became one of the very first farmers in Northern Norway to open a cheese factory and shop on their property. Visitors to their farm will meet a delightful menagerie of animals, learn about the production of goat’s cheese and sample a wide variety of award-winning cheeses including feta, halloumi and blue cheese. The farm also has a thriving herb garden which is turned into spice mixes, tea and vinegar.
