ROYAL PRINCESS MAKES MAIDEN VOYAGE TO ALASKA

Royal Princess will make her maiden voyage to Alaska next year as record numbers of Australians head for the ice.

Last year 41,804 Australians cruised to Alaska. Since 2016, there has been a 25.5 per cent rise in Australians heading for Alaska.

“Royal Princess’ deployment marks an additional capacity of 3600 guests per cruise which reflects the high interest in fly cruise to Alaska from Australians and New Zealanders. We’re delighted in 2019, we can celebrate our 50th year of cruising in the region by offering even more guests the chance to experience the awe-inspiring wilderness that is so unique to Alaska,’’ said Stuart Allison, vice president Princess Cruises Australia and New Zealand.

There will be a record seven Princess ships heading for Alaska from five homeports – Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Anchorage. On all itineraries, Alaska top two attractions, Glacier Bay and Denali National Parks will be included.

While onboard, guests will have immersive experiences with local personalities and  expedition leaders including Libby Riddles, the first female trail-sled dog race champion.

Fares for a seven-night Voyage of the Glaciers cruise on Royal Princess which departs on May 11 next year start from $1319 per person twin share.
