The luxurious Silver Origin will begin voyages around the Galapagos Islands next month.
She’s due to start sailing on September 19 with a series of adventure itineraries where guests can see the diverse wildlife of this eco destination.
Despite the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’s No Sail Order, the ship will be operating exclusively in Ecuador, so the Silver Origin has the go ahead to sail.
But while flights from America to Ecuador has resumed, the CDC still has a Level 3 travel health notice for the country. Cruisers will still need to quarantine for 14 days even if they present a negative COVID-19 test result.
The stunning new ship, which was built specifically for this region, will just have 51 suites onboard, all with private balconies. Even the luxurious bathrooms have tubs with sweeping ocean views. And every suite comes with a butler who will cater for your every whim – from your favourite champagne, to unpacking your luggage.
On the ship, there are two eateries onboard – The Grill and The Restaurant. There are also a number of lounges and the Basecamp, which is the departures hub for various expeditions. There are zodiacs that will take you out on daily expeditions as well as a fleet of kayaks. The ship also has a small gym, spa and salon.
The itineraries will include a visit to Bartolome Island which is known for its snorkelling and penguins and Santa Cruz, which is home of the Charles Darwin Research Station.
The Silver Origin will also make maiden calls to a number of lesser visited places including Santa Fe Island. And prices start from US$10,700 per person.
