Silver Nova embarks on Maiden Voyage

Silversea’s sparkling new ship Silver Nova has taken to the seas on its first ever voyage. The ship is sailing out of Venice Italy on a seven-day itinerary through the Adriatic sea.

Silver Nova is the first Nova-class ship for Silversea, marking a new era of both luxury and environmental consciousness.

The new vessel will sail in the Mediterranean throughout the summer before heading to the Caribbean and Latin America in November. On January 4, 2024, Silver Nova will set off on her first Grand Voyage, visiting 38 destinations across 18 countries.

Silver Nova has the highest space-to-guest ratio of any Silversea ship, hosting up to 728 guests. There are also 13 suite categories, more than Silversea has ever had before. Regardless of category, every suite will have its own private veranda and butler.

Silversea’s President Barbara Muckermann takes viewers on a guided tour of their newest ship.

Taking the crown in the suite category is the Otium suite. This 123-square-metre room packs in floor-to-ceiling windows, a 40 square metre balcony and private whirlpool.

Nova is aiming to lead the way in sustainability for the industry. The ship is aiming for an industry first achievement by running emission-free when in ports. Nova also will run on liquified natural gas through use of dual-fuel engines.

The ship will achieve an Energy Efficiency Design Index rating 25% above the International Maritime Organisation. This will be achieved through a micro auto gasification system that will largely eliminate onboard waste and incineration emissions.

The next ship in Silverseas Nova-class is Silver Ray, set to arrive in European summer 2024.
