Princess Cruises has today announced that Royal Princess will make her maiden voyage to Alaska in 2019. As the largest Princess ship to cruise Alaskan waters, the arrival of the 330 metre-long, 141,000 ton liner will mark 50 Years of Alaska Cruises by Princess.
The news follows a recorded 25.5 per cent rise in Australians cruising to Alaska in 2016, with the destination rated as Princess Cruise’s guests’ favourite itinerary and Australia’s favourite place to cruise in the Americas.
“Last year a record-number of Australians cruised to Alaska and Princess was the number one cruise line.” said Vice President Princess Cruises Australia and New Zealand, Stuart Allison.

In 2019 a record-breaking seven Princess ships will be completing Alaskan itineraries. Guests will have five homeports to choose from; Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Anchorage (Whittier) and the opportunity to see Alaska’s top two attractions, Glacier Bay and Denali National Parks on every cruise-tour.
Onboard, Princes has enhanced the award-winning North to Alaska! program. Guests will be immersed in local personalities, culture and cuisine including; Cook my Catch, an exclusive culinary program allowing guests to return from select Princess fishing excursions to have the chef prepare their very own catch of the day.
