Royal Caribbeans transpacific cruises will get you to Hawaii from just $59 per night

As Australia’s wave season draws to a close, some of best prices of the season are still on offer. Royal Caribbean has slashed prices on some last minute transpacific sailings from Sydney and Brisbane to Hawaii, on Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas respectively.

As the ships reposition themselves to North America, you can come along for the ride and find yourself on Hawaiian shores at the end of it.

Quantum of the Seas will be sailing for 17-nights from Brisbane to Hawaii, with stops along the way in Papeete, Tahiti and Moorea, as well as Kailua Kona in Hawaii, with prices starting as low $1009pp ($59 per night) for an inside cabin.

If you were looking to visit Hawaii, a one-way flight with Hawaiian airlines on April 15, the date of the Brisbane cruise, is $1063 per person, meaning cruising to Hawaii is essentially the same price. However, of course with this cruise, you’ll have 17-nights of entertainment and food, South Pacific islands and ocean views thrown in as well.

The cruise leaves Brisbane on April 12 and arrives in Hawaii on April 29.

If you’re rather looking to sail out of Sydney, Ovation of the Seas will sail for 18-nights, visiting New Zealand, Papeete, Tahiti and Moorea enroute to Hawaii. You can book an inside cabin from just $1399pp ($78 per day).

The cruise departs Sydney on April 15, before making its way to Hawaii on May 2.

Transpacific cruises go between Australia and the US at the start and end of wave seasons. Due to the large amount of ocean to be covered you can generally expect slightly more sea days than usual, but also more enticing prices as Royal Caribbean looks for you to join them in their repositioning.

You can expect plenty of white-sand beaches, snorkelling opportunities and classic Royal Caribbean entertainment. Plus, you’ll end your journey plonked among the beauty of Hawaii, where you’re free to continue holidaying.

  1. $59 per night is a bargain. You cannot stay at home for less than that. We were keen to do this cruise until we found out that a one-way flight from Honolulu back to Sydney after the cruise was going to cost us $1500 each. It then becomes not so much of a great deal.
