Royal Caribbean announced yesterday it will be launching the world’s largest ship, Symphony of the Seas next year.
She’ll be a ‘tad bigger’ than her sister and currently the world’s largest ship, Harmony of the Seas and now you can book your spot on her.
Symphony will have all the cool whatsits and doodads on her like the Bionic Bar, Aqua Theatre, the Ultimate Abyss slide, Royal Promenade and Central Park areas as well as a host of new features which will be announced closer to her launch date.
She’ll be homeported in Miami in Florida as well as Barcelona in Spain which means Aussies can discover a number of destinations in the East and West Caribbean as well as the Mediterranean.
You’ll be able to get onboard on some of her ‘shake-down’ cruises departing as early as April 21, 2018. The inaugural will depart from Barcelona and visit Palma de Mallorca, Marseilles, Florence/Pisa, Rome and Naples in Italy. The cruise is priced from $1,450 per person, twin share.
If you’re looking for a Caribbean cruise from Miami, there is a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise which visits Roatan in Honduras, Puerto Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico as well as Nassau in the Bahamas.
“It’s slightly longer, a tad wider,” and with more staterooms than other Oasis-class vessels,” said Michael Bayley, the line’s president and CEO. “We’ve added a couple of features. We’ve changed the design in Solarium quite a lot, so it’s changed the ship … and added a little bit of weight.”
Symphony will have the capacity to accommodate up to 6,780 guests in 2,775 staterooms – 28 more than Harmony.
