Popstar sensation Dami Im will be the special guest onboard Australia’s largest and most technologically advanced ship, Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas.
Arriving on December 15, Royal Caribbean has planned a special launch party to celebrate her arrival and the Eurovision star will be doing an exclusive at the ship’s inaugural arrival event.
“We are now less than 30 days away from Ovation of the Seas’ Australian debut. The US$1 billion dollar ship will challenge everything you thought was possible on a cruise holiday, and so it’s fitting that she’ll be given a truly royal welcome; by the people of Sydney and also by Dami – who has also been breaking records this year,” said Adam Armstrong, managing director, Royal Caribbean Australia & NZ.
Dami will perform to guests of the inaugural arrival event in Two70, the multidimensional venue on Ovation of the Seas that is an expansive lounge boasting 270 degree ocean views by day, and becomes an immersive, multimedia entertainment spectacular at night, fusing technology with entertainment using robotic video-screens, dramatic digital projection and high-flying aerialists and performers.
Ovation of the Seas will sail past The Heads at around 5am on December 15 before arriving at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at 6am.
Here are some of the places you can watch Ovation of the Seas
- Bradley’s Head on Sydney’s North Shore allows views of the major Sydney icons including Fort Denison and its surroundings
- Cremorne Reserve on Cremorne Point offers spectacular views of Sydney Harbour. The outlook includes both Circular Quay and Fort Denison, which will provide excellent views of the ship’s arrival, departure and when docked at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
- Circular Quay is a great place to soak up the atmosphere of the two days, get up close with the ship and watch the arrival and departure.
- The Royal Botanic Gardens, located near Circular Quay, allows panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. Go for a walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens and stop at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for the best views of Ovation’s arrival on the 15th and departure on the 16th of December.
- Luna Park and North Sydney Swimming Pool, down near the ferry wharf at Kirribilli are great areas in which you can view the ship arriving and docked at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
- Hickson Road Reserve under the Sydney Harbour Bridge offers panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and is perfect for watching Ovation’s arrival on the 15th and departure on the 16thof December.
