Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure have a historic rendezvous en route to Australia

P&O Cruises Pacific Adventure has started its journey home to Australia, making a spectacular stop on its way.

Before adventuring back to our shores, Pacific Adventure spent the night berthed side-by-side with Pacific Encounter in Trieste, Italy.

The night marked a significant moment for cruise in Australia, as both ships underwent ‘wetdock’ preparations, to prepare for sailing in Australia. Both ships will be sailing in Australia shortly, completing P&O Cruises Australia three-ship fleet.

Pacific Encounter will be delighting Aussie cruisers as soon as August 20, when she departs on a seven-night cruise out of Brisbane. Pacific Adventure will play host to local cruisers from October 22, when she sails for three-nights out of Sydney.

The image of the two ships berthed together is indicative of the continued progress in Australia’s cruise resumption and P&O’s significant role in Australia’s $5 billion a year cruise industry.

P&O Cruises Australia President, Marguerite Fitzgerald, said: “As we prepare to welcome home Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure, we can also see that momentum is growing in the resurgence of cruising in Australia.”

The work being done on the ships includes technical upgrades as well as aesthetic enhancements, with upgrading of facilities and further furnishings.
