P&O has announced the Pacific Dawn will be undergoing a multi-million dollar refit for Queensland cruisers.
The Pacific Dawn, which will be homeported in Brisbane will be kitted out with a new-state-of the art waterpark which will include two waterslides and an interactive kids-only play area.
She’ll go into drydock in February 2017, replacing the buffet with P&O’s new food concept, The Pantry. Guests will be able to try out cuisines from around the world including a new Mediterranean-inspired grill called Nic and Toni’s
The Pantry was one of the biggest changes introduced by P&O to its new ships, the Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden and has been a big hit with the guests.
Also like her sister ships, the Pacific Dawn will have modern and sleek décor in areas like the atrium, Charlie’s, The Orient and the Promenade Bar.
The Dome nightclub will be completely revamped and will offer more live music. The Orient will have a new summer pub vibe and The Promenade Bar will be transformed into a venue where guests can enjoy cocktails and listen to live music.
P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell said the refurbishment would kick off a big year for the cruise line in Queensland.
“With the new waterpark, dining options and a refreshed interior design, we’re creating a great new look for Pacific Dawn which will combine some fun innovations with the winning features of our existing ships,” Mr Myrmell said.
“There’s no question that Queenslanders love holidaying at sea with P&O, so we’re very excited that our Brisbane guests will soon be able to enjoy a stylish new look Pacific Dawn as part of their cruise holiday experience, alongside one of our latest ships, Pacific Aria.”
Cruises on the Pacific Dawn will start from March 2017 and itineraries include a seven-night South Pacific holiday departing Brisbane on May 13, 2017. The cruise is priced from $849 per person, quad share.
