Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet has grown to 19 ships after taking the delivery of Norwegian Viva.
The famous Fincantieri shipyard in Italy crafted Norwegian Viva. The ship now becomes the second in NCL’s prima class.
She will be sailing on itineraries around Europe, particularly around the Mediterranean.
The cruise line held celebrations in Sydney with a Mediterranean-themed lunch at St Siandra in Mosman.
Ben Angell, VP & Managing Directo of NCL said the launch of Viva marks Norwegian Cruise Line’s strong presence in the Mediterranean.
Viva will sail for the first time on August 10, beginning a series of Mediterranean and Greek Isles sailings. Miami will host her official christening on November 28. Famous Latin singer Luis Fonsi will serve as the godfather of the ship.

“Delivery marks an important milestone for Norwegian Viva, and we are beyond excited to bring this spectacular ship to life as we welcome guests aboard next week.”
What’s new on Norwegian Viva?
The ship’s tagline is ‘Live it up’, aiming to elevate the NCL guest experience.
New to the ship are exciting additions like the Broadway production of Beetlejuice. There are also revamps in the dining sector, most notably the 11 unique eateries of the Indulge Food Hall.
Viva also has The Concourse. This outdoor sculpture garden offers a wrap-around boardwalk of the ship.
Sustainability has also played a big role in the new ship, even extending to sustainable cocktails at the Metropolitan Bar.
