Luxury Kimberley Great Value for Early birds

Cruise Traveller is proud to advise that we have three departure dates for the Ponant Kimberley 2019 season at unbeatable low prices.  A 13 night Fly Cruise Stay package including stays in Broome and Darwin is priced from just $10,865*per person twin share with departures on the 1st of June, 31st of July and 20th of August 2019.  These exclusive fares include a saving of over $3800 per person on regular brochure prices for this cruise.

The brand new Le Laperouse ship hosts 184 guests in chic French style surrounds.  This ‘Clean’ ship is kind to the local environment using satellite navigation to hold the ship over any particular spot without the need to drop anchor or disturb pristine marine sanctuaries.  She also boasts a new underwater ‘Blue Eye Lounge’ for viewing and hearing the comings and goings of the marine creatures nearby.  There are excellent recycling and green practices maintained onboard and you can travel with confidence on this beautiful new vessel.

Most of your excursions will be by Zodiac travelling with enthusiastic Expedition Guides as you skim along glassy blue waters rimmed by red and orange cliffs.  Expect to see many a ‘saltie’ croc and hundreds of birds while out and about.  The Kimberley is famous for her magnificent waterfalls where millions of litres of water tumble over ancient cliffs each day.  This land is a spiritual song for the soul and the traditional land owners will be pleased to teach you some of her many stories on visits to incredibly old caves where rock art is still maintained by the current generations.

A highlight of any trip to the Kimberley is Montgomery Reef, a tidal phenomenon where due to drastic tidal changes, a whole underwater reef is exposed each day at low tide.  This strands fish, crabs and all kinds of water-folk that become a smorgasbord for local birds and land-walking octopus.  The tides also bring about another unique natural oddity, the famous Horizontal Falls, where two narrow chasms  are just too small for the sheer amount of water passing through them on the changing tide and form ‘falls’ of rushing water.  Passing through these narrow gorges is pretty exciting as you feel the sheer power of the water under your boat.
