When it comes to high glamour at sea, it’s all about the little things. No detail has been overlooked in the $100 million makeover of the Norwegian Spirit, with a sleek new spa, 14 new venues and an exclusive new adults only retreat.
Here’s a preview of what guests will enjoy when she sets sail again in February 2020, which will include Asia and Africa in her new itineraries.
She is a grand old lady, as far as cruise ships go, the 75,904-gross-ton Norwegian Spirit was built in 1998 and can carry 2,018 guests and 912 crew. Needless to say, she will be sparkling after her well-deserved revitalisation next year.
The Norwegian Cruise Line ship will enter dry dock in Marseille, France, on January 2nd for an over-$100 million refurb. She will sail out of dry dock in February 2020 and offer itineraries across three continents including Asia, Africa and Europe.
The Spirit will feature 14 new venues, additional staterooms and a sleek, expanded spa.
Mandara Spa will double in size to nearly 7,000 square feet and include a relaxation room with heated loungers, a new Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and water therapy experience.
Spice H2O is an adults-only retreat with a daytime lounge featuring two new hot tubs and a dedicated bar, which will transform into an after-hours entertainment venue.
As part of the nearly 40-day renovation, the Spirit will emerge featuring the chic new Spinnaker Lounge and the Humidor Cigar Lounge.
Magnum’s Champagne & Wine Bar will also be a popular new addition, as well as the new complimentary dining venues including the 24-hour eatery, The Local Bar & Grill, an additional main dining room, Taste; the all-day dining outlet, Garden Café; the Great Outdoors Bar; and Waves Pool Bar.
The Spirit will also re-emerge with renovated staterooms boasting a contemporary design.
