Explora Journeys shows off brand new “Homes at Sea” suites

Explora Journeys, a new lifestyle brand by the MSC Group, has shown off the designs for its new Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences on board of Explora IExplora I is set to be the first of six luxury ships for the brand and will set sail for the first time in July this year.

The new suites have been expertly designed to create a luxurious, yet homely feel at sea. Designed by the owner’s family and their more than 300 years of maritime heritage, all suites on the ship aim to drive forward the brand’s mission statement of creating an “Ocean State of Mind”.

The suites are concocted to bring together naturally light, vibrant colour, open space, privacy, and connection to the sea to balance each guest’s experience between opulence and illusions of familiar domesticity.

The Ocean Penthouses let the light in through floor-to-ceiling windows and a large terrace, offering plenty of space to sit back and take in the sea. All four penthouse categories also offer their own unique private dining area, as well as a larger seating area if they wish to entertain other guests.

The luxury is dotted across all aspects of the rooms, with walk-in wardrobes, heated bathroom floors, personal binoculars, wireless charging, a personal mini-bar, espresso machines, and more.

The Ocean Residences offer guests a separate space for living, dining, and sleeping, each decked out with panoramic, front terraces and a private outdoor whirlpool, sun lounge, and dining table. From the Calacatta Macchia Vecchia marble in the bathrooms to the 24-hour butler service, you can expect every detail of your stay to be filled in with luxury.

Jason Gelineau, Head of Product of Explora Journeys, said: “Environmental respect and sustainability have been key in design choices, ensuring a balance between the tactile and visual experience of every material used.

“Eco-friendly details such as refillable bathroom amenities have also been weaved into the suite offering and where feasible, we are sourcing sustainable products including B Corp-certified items. We will also have a no single-use plastic policy on board.”
