Crystal Cruises cancels port calls to Turkey

Crystal Cruises has announced a revised itinerary for Crystal Symphony in April and May 2016, which was scheduled to sail towards Istanbul and Kusadasi, replacing the port calls with destinations in Greece. Dropping ports calls to Istanbul has been attributed to recent suicide bomb attacks at a popular tourist spot, Sultanahmet Square.

“The itinerary changes will allow our guests to continue with their planned vacations in the same standard of excellence and luxury, without the added worry of security in a particular destination,” said CEO and President Edie Rodriguez in an official press statement.

Crystal’s new yacht Crystal Esprit will also undergo itinerary changes substituting its Turkish port calls.
