Coral Expeditions’ new Australian Coastal Wilderness voyages in 2021

Coral Expeditions will launch its domestic cruise season with a collection of Australia’s Coastal Wilderness voyages in 2021.

The diverse range of itineraries will include Cape York, Arnhem Land, Torres Straits, Ningaloo, remote islands of Western Australian coastline as well as Kimberley and Tasmania.

“Australian expeditions are in our DNA and these pristine shores and communities continually inspire our guests’ year in and year out. Exploring remote Australian regions is a rite of passage for the domestic traveller,” said Jeff Gilles, commercial director of Coral Expeditions.

The line’s new ship, Coral Geographer will cruise the Kimberley in April 2021 as part of her maiden season. The 120-passenger vessel, currently under construction, is scheduled to debut in early 2021 and will be joined in the Kimberley by sister ships Coral Adventurer and the smaller Coral Discoverer.

Coral Geographer

The 10-day Kimberley voyage will cruise between Darwin and Broome from early April to September 2021.

In WA, the line will cruise from Broome to Ningaloo and the Montebello Islands and Rowley Shoals. The 10-night sailing on Coral Discoverer has been created in partnership with the Australian Geographic Society. The cruise will thrill marine lovers as they discover untouched atolls, mega marine fauna and rare bird colonies found in the pristine habitat. There will be two sailings a year.

Coral will offer five Tasmania cruises onboard Coral Discoverer with a 10-night expedition to explore the remote wilderness of Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour. Other itineraries will include coastal treks, a yachtsmen’s cruise from Sydney to Hobart, a 16-night circumnavigation of Tasmania and a one-off, themed cruise to take in the Wooden Boat Festival which highlights the country’s rich marine culture.

There will also an 11-night cruise on Coral Discoverer to Cape York and Arnhem Land expedition to visit remote communities at the Top End of Australia visiting Tiwi Islands, the lesser known places of Torres Strait and the eastern coastline of Cape York and the Great Barrier Reef.

Passengers will be able to meet renowned Indigenous artists, snorkel the warm waters of the northern Barrier Reef and visit Lizard Island Research Station.
