Aussies will get to sail to exotic destinations in Asia onboard the Carnival Spirit .
The Spirit, one of our favourite fun ships, will be sailing to Singapore on a 19-night cruise from Sydney on May 3, 2018. She will then be dry docked and go on to Shanghai.
Asked when she would return to Sydney, a Carnival Cruise Lines spokesperson said she couldn’t say. She appears on the Sydney Ports cruise schedule in November, next year.
Last year, the Carnival Spirit underwent a AU$44 million refurbishment to include two new exciting restaurants, two new bars, a massive cinema screen, new pool features, bigger and better entertainment and, for the little ones, a new kids club.
Two of the biggest dining attractions, which already seem to be a hit among the Australian guests, are the new Mexican-themed BlueIguana Cantina and Burger Joint from American celebrity chef, Guy Fieri.
Carnival has also introduced a new entertainment program, which includes a show featuring the best of the 80s.
From hits like Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Jitterbug and much more, the colourful show is bursting with explosive routines and neon sets.
Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Jennifer Vandekreeke said the upcoming cruise would be great for Asians to explore their own region.
“We’re excited to be taking our guests on such a special cruise, with Carnival Cruise Line’s first-ever visits to Ho Chi Minh City and Ko Samui and a fun-filled itinerary packed with new experiences both on and off the ship,” Ms Vandekreeke said.
Carnival Spirit will then enter dry dock when she reaches Singapore and then set sail on a series of voyages around Asia from Shanghai during the local summer season before returning to Australia in late 2018.
Fares start at AU$2,449 per person twin share.
