Carnival’s newest Australian ship revealed – here’s where she be sailing

Carnival revealed the Luminosa itineraries for when she starts sailing in November as the newest member of the cruise line’s fleet.

Coming to the line from Costa Cruises, where it was called the Costa Luminosa, the Carnival Luminosa, will offer a range of Australia, South Pacific and Alaska itineraries.

The 2800-passenger vessel is a sister ship to Carnival’s other Spirit class ships, but is missing one iconic trait – the funnel.

Her inaugural sailing will be a seven-night Great Barrier Reef sailing from Brisbane on 6 November. It will take guests north to Airlie Beach, Cairns, Port Douglas and do a scenic cruising of Willis Island. Prices start at $774 per person, or just $110 per night.

She’ll be based in Brisbane for the Australian summer, cruising along the Queensland coast, visiting Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea on itineraries ranging from four nights to 11.

There are also two transpacific sailings on offer between her southern and northern hemisphere seasons. You can travel either from Brisbane to Seattle over 22 nights in April, 2023 or from Seattle to Brisbane over 30 nights in September, 2023.

The ship will then remain in Australia for the 2023/2024 summer cruising season.
