Carnival Cruise Line launches five ‘Grinchmas in July’ cruises

Carnival Cruise Line has announced five ‘Grinchmas in July’ themed sailings on Carnival Splendor to sprinkle some Christmas spirit into the middle of the year.

The sailings are part of Carnival’s ongoing partnership with Dr. Seuss, and will bring Christmas traditions to both the middle of the year and the middle of the ocean.

Grinchmas in July will see Carnival Splendor turn from ship to winter wonderland, with a giant Christmas tree, festive food, and drink, and even fake snow across the ship, offering a white Christmas to the Aussie winter. All of this festive fun will come on top of the 45-plus activities already available on a Carnival Cruise.

The Grinch will even be showing his face with some special appearances throughout the cruise, as well as a screening of How The Grinch Stole Christmas at the Dive-In Movies. There’ll be an ugly Christmas sweater night to show off the most horrendous knitting you’ve been gifted, a Christmas carolling throughout the ship, trivia, arts, crafts and much more.

VP of Carnival Cruise Line, Kara Glamore said, “Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but why should we limit the fun to December? With three within the winter school holidays, there’s no better way to spend time with the family during the school break”.

Carnival’s Grinchmas in July sailings depart from Sydney starting on 30th June 2023. The full list of sailings includes:

  • Friday 30th June: 9-night sailing to the South Pacific visiting three amazing ports including Noumea, Mystery Island, and Lifou
  • Sunday 9th July: 4-night sailing including a trip to the picturesque Moreton Island, one of Australia’s best-kept secrets
  • Thursday 13th July: 3-night Weekend Sampler where guests can soak in the very best of Sydney’s famous landmarks whilst getting a taste of the fun on board
  • Sunday 16th July: 12-night South Pacific tour with just under two weeks sailing around the stunning South Pacific. Enjoy the sunshine in Noumea, whilst stopping off at other stunning locations such as Mystery Island and Lifou
