Azamara Cruises, popular amongst cruisers for immersion experiences, has added crocodile watch excursion as a new offering in 2016. The excursion is part of the itinerary of a 14 night Bali and Barrier Reef Voyage aboard Azamara Quest that departs on December 22 2015. Guests will be on a crocodile watch river cruise on a visit to Port Douglas, spotting crocodiles and Aussie wildlife.
Aussie cruisers are Azamara’s second biggest clientele, with nearly 6500 travelling in 2015. “We find that Australian travellers are more interested in authentic travel and experiences and they ask more about destinations than any other nationality; they always want to know which new ports and new countries we’re going to,”Azamara President and CEO Larry Pimentel told Cruise Passenger in October.
The cruise liner has partnered with luxury tour operator Abercrombie & Kent for the excursions.
“Abercrombie & Kent will be sharing its singular service and luxury amenities with Azamara travelers on these voyages. Their experience bringing the real Australia to life on land complements Azamara’s standard of excellence at sea,” said Roberta Jacoby, Managing Director, Global Tour Operations for Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd.
The cruise liner’s two brands Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest will undergo enhancements to bring superior destination immersion onboard. There are over 75 excursions planned for 2016 which include sunset tours, cultural entertainment featured under AzAmazing Evenings, Land Discoveries, Insider Access, Nights and Cool Places. Here are a few examples of new excursions for Down Under :
- Visiting Parade Grounds at Fort Scratchley (Newcastle, Australia) on a 10 night Great Barrier Reef Voyage cruise. Enjoy performance by the Australian James Morrison, an evening of jazz instrumentals, didgeridoo and a fireworks finale.
- Spend a night with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and meet the orchestra members on 16 night Australia and New Zealand Voyage cruise.
- Get up and close to the wild animals of Australia, including feeding time with a koala, tug of war with a Tasmanian devil and more. For more details on excursions click here
