How to attract a crowd on a beach?

SeaDream II, the luxury small ship, has a quick way to “crowd source” in the real world – serve chilled champagne and caviar from a raft.

It’s called the “splash” – perhaps because of what happens after you’ve over-indulged! But, as you can see from our pictures of Boxing Day on Ko Lanta Yai island, it creates a happy crowd every time.

That’s Executive Hotel Manager Christophe Cornu in uniform. And yes, he is standing waste deep in the sea. This is one of SeaDream II’s first voyages through Asia, and the splash is the kind of experience the small ship is famous for.

It was complimented with a beach-side BBQ, and most of the young families aboard were happy to get in some tanning and swimming time.

Cruise directors love to end with a crescendo. And it was quickly followed by some snorkeling and sea sports off the Thai resort island of Phuket.

Read our full review of SeaDream II’s Asian tour – she is in the region until April, 2014 – in our next issue of Cruise Passenger Magazine.

And we would love to hear about your adventures over the holiday. Send us your pictures and stories to nahrain@cruisepassv2.wpengine.com

Happy New Year – and smooth sailing in 2014.
