Family cruising is fast becoming a popular way for parents looking for a getaway with their kids.
Not only is it cost-effective, but modern-day ships have a wide array of activities onboard. Lines like Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Lines, Disney Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Lines have big-ticket things like rock climbing walls, Virtual Reality game centres, arcades, basketball courts, ice rinks and even go-karts.
These mainstream ships tend to be bigger to accommodate all of the activities as well as the different types of accommodation to cater for the whole family.
Depending on the size of your family, standard cabins fit two people. But the lines which are designed for family cruising, can fit as many as three or four people with pull-out beds, bunk beds, and even upper bunk beds that pull down from the ceiling. There are also interconnecting cabins designed if parents want to get their own space, but to stay near the kids.
Other lines, designed for family cruising like Royal Caribbean have amazing suites which can sleep up to 11 people. There’s even a dry slide between the first and second floor. The suite comes with a Genie, that will fulfill your every wish.
The great thing about family ships is that they have great kids’ clubs onboard. These will cater to children aged between two-to-17. The clubs are broken down into different age categories with specially designed activities. There are arts and crafts workshops, science labs, trivia and video games, sports tournaments, and much more.
