Evergreen’s Emerald Belle seriously damaged in fire

Evergreen Tours’ newest ship, Emerald Belle, has been seriously damaged in a fire that broke out last night in the Den Breejen Shipyard in the Netherlands where the ship is currently under construction.

Though the fire was quickly brought under control, damage was significant and the ship will not be able to launch as scheduled in April. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and an investigation is underway.

Evergreen is currently reviewing bookings for Emerald Belle‘s first season and passengers will likely be accommodated aboard other Evergreen or Scenic ships. Guests with bookings will be contacted by the reservations team in the coming days.

Emerald Belle will be the fifth Star Ship in the fleet, accommodating 182 passengers.
