She has spent eight years in Australian waters calling the area home and hosting more than 300,000 passengers.
This April, Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas will be departing Australia permanently and making Europe her new home.
She said her goodbyes to Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart last week.
And on April 17, she will farewell Sydney.
To celebrate her departure, Cruise Express is running a competition exclusively for Cruise Passenger readers to give away two tickets to its Bon Voyage Rhapsody of the Seas Party. To enter, all you need to do is answer the following question: “Why would you like two tickets to Cruise Express’s Bon Voyage Rhapsody of the Seas Party at the Cruise Bar, Circular Quay on April 17?”
THIS COMPETITION HAS CLOSED
My first cruise was on Rhapsody and I have such great memories from it. The food and entertainment was exceptional, the staff friendly and helpful. I would love the chance to say goodbye to a ship that gave me a great first cruise.
Without me at the Bon Voyage party it would be similar to Royal Caribbean without Rhapsody- just not the same!
I have just disembarked from an eleven night cruise to the Pacific Islands and rocking as I speak. I’m totally hooked on sailing the seas again and have even more fun on the Rhapsody. What a shame she is farewelling us so soon.
Parting is such sweet sorrow: but that’s no excuse for misery! I want to be there when they pop the corks and blow the whistles to farewell a grand old lady.
I would like to included in a once off experience to farewell a Woulderful Lady who has served many a person, couple or family units
i would love to surprise my husband with this cruise prize as he has never been and this is the last chance
Our favourite ship and we are going to miss her badly. So many friends on this trip we would love to catch up with . But it is the staff we will miss the most. They can send more ships and we will try them all but still none will compare with our beloved Rhapsody and our many memories. Wish we could be there for the final farewell xx
I so want to travel on Rhapsody because I was so silly and thought we would have her for a long time and I have travelled on Radiance and Voyager of the seas and now I have left it too late for Rhapsody, please help me to not miss out on trying all of Royal Caribbean’s Australian fleet before its to late.
Rhapsody of the Seas was our first ral cruise, and it was the first time that RCI came to Australia. Cruiseco had chartered Rhapsody in 2006 for three months, taking the ship from Hawaii to Australia and finishing up in Singapore. The atmosphere on the ship was fantastic! It was the first time out of American waters for the crew too, so they were just as excited. Rhapsody was fully booked, and all Australians! We had such a marvellous cruise, even though they ran out of tea. Really! Someone didn’t do their homework. That evening purser bought out the supermarkets in Fiji and danced around the pool deck with his arms full of boxes of tea. Everyone we have spoken to remembers Rhapsody of the Seas as being their favourite ship.
To enjoy the experience and have the opportunity to say “Bon Voyage Rhapsody of the Seas, thank you and enjoy your new home in Europe!
I have never had the opportunity tom experience a cruise.
I would love to cruise, relax, dine, see sights, and enjoy the adventure.
I would love to farewell Rhapsody of the seas as I have cruised twice on this ship and can’t think of another ship I would like as much as this ship, I had the best 25 days of my life on here, so would love to say farewell, but not goodbye.
Rhapsody,s party would be a terrific way to farewell this beautiful ship that holds so many great memories of our last cruise.
After recently Rocking the Boat on Rhapsody of the Seas I would love to have a final Bon Voyage party!
I love parties, I love cruising with Royal Caribbean and I love the sites of Sydney Harbour!
This ship was the first cruise my wife and I experienced. We have beautiful memories of a fantastic holiday. Will miss seeing her in Sydney.
I see a little silhouetto of a ship … I’d love to say Bon Voyage in true Bohemian Rhapsody of the Seas style!
“Rhapsody of the sea ” drew me to it, and it would be fitting to say farewell.
What a wonderful way to farewell this majestic ship and its entire crew who work so tirelessly – leaving the shores of Sydney Australia for some other exotic location
Rhapsody of the sea, drew me to it, and it would be fitting to say farewell.
My partner Shananne Field deserves something this beautiful as it is something beyond our reach at the moment and I feel we work so hard for the things we have. She puts herself out for everyone including myself on a daily basis , like enrolling with her mother in nursing (travelling to school three days a week )working the other two as a beauty therapist and babysitting most other days and it would unbelieve for her to have something so cool to look forward too. Thanks for taking time out to read this
I’d love to farewell the intimate and classy ship in Australia’s favourite city

We have been regular cruisers on the Royal Caribbean line & yet never to sail on the Rhapsody of the Seas so would love to be there to soak up the atmosphere & who doesn’t love to party.
Cruising is the only thing in my life that truly makes me happy. When I am cruising I forget about all my worries, let my hair down and enjoy myself. Cruising functions as my therapy for my anxiety. I have travelled on 7 cruises so far (I’m only 20) and I plan many more in the future.
Neglected husband seeks time with wife #letsgotosydney #solongrhapsody #perfectsurprise
I would like the tickets because it is a favourite past time of my mum’s and mine to visit any of the cruise ships that come in to port. This would be the ultimate visit to a great ship that is leaving us for the last time.

[5] of my siblings and husbands have sailed on Rhapsody of the seas they like me love Cruising ,I wasn’t able
to go on that one, they told me “it was one of the best cruises they had ever been on “Singapore to Sydney ”
I think and the Ship was the best they had been on[and they have done a lot of Cruising ,maybe this is a

This could be a honeymoon. Wow people would be excited for me if I won this trip.
I can pack right now if you want. I am ready to go. Boy would this be wonderful.
It would be a dream come true to win this cruise. I would take my friend that has had lots of bad luck and ended up raising her 4 children all alone. 2 of those disabled. Now her eldest daughter is old enough to take care of her youngest. The break away would be just the thing for her. Oh and me showing her the way LOL

Bon Voyage to the elegant Queen,
What a magical summer it’s been,
As you sail into the golden light,
May I farewell you on that magical night
I was fortunate to have sailed on this fine ship and I’d like nothing more than to give her the send off she so deserves.
Farewell to the lovely lady of the seas – “Rhapsody of the seas” which has seen so much of the world since it was built almost 30 years ago!!
I want to Bon Voyage my thirties in style with a great Bon Voyage Party.
Would love to be part of Rhapsody’s last hurrah as we have spent many happy times aboard this fabulous ship.
We still remember fondly welcoming her into Sydney all those years ago.. Even though we did never sail in her, we have seen her as monumental step forward in cruising from Sydney.
Would dearly ove tickets as we have just recently returned from an unforgettable Rhapsody Christmas cruise never to be ,forgotten and it would be awesome to be part of a special celebration of the grand Dame’s last voyage.
No further comment.
My family, 5 of us haven’t stopped nagging me to book another Cruise and we went to the Cruise Expo last weekend but couldn’t decide, we wont be able to go until 2016.
I would love to Bon Voyage Rhapsody of the Seas, bringing back great memories of a family Cruise and pushing me quicker to book another.
Sadly I wasn’t able to experience this beautiful ships hospitality but would love the opportunity to show our respect and bid her a fond farewell.
I am so sad to know that Rhapsody is departing for GOOD! She is my favourite Ship. I’ve travelled on her many times. As Ii am an active 90 year old , I would TREASURE the chance to bid her Bon Voyage.
Fare the well oh Rapturous One.
Please change the word get to give please in my comment.
Bon Voyage to a great dame who came down under and stayed for eight years. Good luck with your new Northern adventures. We want to get you a rapturous farewell from beautiful Sydney.
Well, in a way is sad to see her leaving Australia and, we had the pleasure to enjoyed The Rhapsody few years back and, before it was taken away for re-furbishment: a Grand Lady that would be missed. Being able to win this very special Bon Voyage Cruise would make my husband and I very privileged. Moreover, on the 19th April will be celebrating our 18th Wedding Anniversary: another valid rosy reason to be with you all.
Royal Caribbean is best : Thanks!
To say good-bye, and re-live the memories of leaving ports relaxing in the swimming pool in the Egyptian themed bar, watching the surrounds slowly get smaller, then the thrill as the ship gains speed and the pool turns into a wave pool. We enjoyed this thrill leaving each port in the lovely enclosed, covered environment.
