Three Coral Expeditions ships safely berthed in Cairns

Coral Adventurer, the flagship of local line Coral Adventures,  returned home safely to Australia after sailing through Indonesia to Darwin.

The Adventurer cut short her Sulawesi itinerary because of the coronavirus pandemic and changing regulations around port access.

“Having travelled through the islands of Indonesia to Darwin, Coral Adventurer brought all crew and guests safely to Australian shores, before sailing for Cairns,” Coral Expeditions said.

The 120-passenger Adventurer joins the smaller, 72-passenger Coral Discoverer which is also moored in Cairns after returning from her Tasmania season, more than a week ago.

The 46-passenger, Coral Expeditions I terminated her Great Barrier Reef trip in Cairns.

All three Coral Expeditions ships are now safely berthed in Cairns.

“We are happy that all guests and crew have returned home safe and healthy, without any COVID-19 incidents on any of our vessels,” says Jeff Gillies, Coral Expeditions commercial director.

“Our fleet will continue to be maintained in top shape and the entire Coral Expeditions team is confident for a redeployment of our small expedition vessels as soon as government restrictions lift and it is responsible to do so.”

The line has cancelled all sailings until 1 June 2020.
