The Australians have impressed Azamara Club Cruises so much, that its announced an inaugural world cruise that shows confidence in the great Australian cruise traveller.
Azamara Club Cruises has announced its first world cruise from Australia to the UK in 2018. Setting sail for 102 days, the Azamara Journey will carry 686 passengers from Sydney’s Opera House to Londen’s Tower bridge, also making stops at famous landmarks.
The highlights of Azamara Journey’s voyage will be more overnights and longer stays in port. The passengers will have the option of embarking in Auckland, New Zealand or take another Baltic Cruise to St Petersburg to watch a FIFA World Cup Soccer match.
Azamara President and CEO Larry Pimentel is excited about serving Aussie cruise travellers, which have become the Azamara’s second biggest clientele. Nearly 6,500 Australians sailed with them this year, representing almost 24 per cent of Azamara’s total passenger numbers for 2015. “We find that Australian travellers are more interested in authentic travel and experiences and they ask more about destinations than any other nationality; they always want to know which new ports and new countries we’re going to.”
There will be 22 ports of call in Australia including Brisbane, the Great Barrier Reef, Kangaroo Island alongside others like Bali, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Myanmar, Mumbai, Muscat, Oman, Athens, Sicily, Rome, Barcelona and France’s Normandy Beaches. The cruise liner will reach Monaco on the day of the Grand Prix and be in Cannes during the film festival.
